SIDEAWALK EXPRESSIONS COMPETITION ( On Swing Bridge)
Taisha Carrington, delegate in Miss Barbados World. "I am organising 'Beauty with A Purpose' charity, the 'HeArt & Soul Campaign', which focuses on raising money for children affected by cancer through the arts. This project is a pivotal point in this competition, holding the most points; therefore I aspire to make my campaign great.  My campaign is solely based on art, as I use art as the form of promoting awareness and raising funds while promoting art in Barbados and giving young artist (as well as older artist) the much needed exposure. Two main events in my campaign are the ‘sidewalk expressions’, where teams of artist draw murals on the sidewalk of the swing bridge in Bridgetown, and secondly an auction/concert to raise funds.
Below are guidelines / rules for the competition (don’t worry they aren’t hard to follow )
The competition will take place on the 6th of august 10am-4pm.
•The mural should be related to the charity (remember :children affected by cancer, whether   the ribbons, words etc) be creative.
•You can work in teams of up to 5 ( that means as little as one person but no more than 5)
•You are allotted an approximate 6.5 feet x 4 feet space (one of those sections bordered by the orange stone in fig 1, so you can go to town and check it out)
•The murals MUST be done in CHALK.
•You will have 6 hours to draw your mural.
•Be on site for 9:15am ( being early is important, not to mention you get to choose the best squares)
•No profanity or rudeness in your murals
•No littering please! Or do not throw anything into the careenage.
•The press will be there! And you may be filmed periodically.
Other bits of info;
If you want to uniform your group you can! (I really encourage it)
Tell other artist you know. To apply they just need to email me with their name, age, contact information and two photos of original work.
There’s room for 18 teams.
Feel free to email me with any questions, ideas, anything."
