Sculpture Workshop at Lancaster Great House. Come & join French Sculptor from Martinique, Jerome Radigois to a 3 days sculpture workshop March 20th, 21st, 22nd, 2009 from 9.30am-4.30pm. During this 3 days workshop you will learn: How to make the stand and structure for your sculpture. How to model a portrait with clay from a life-model, using your hands as only tools. How to cast a plaster-mould of your masterpiece. How to remove the mould from its support. How to build the final sculpture. How to apply finishes. Price Bds$ 650, includes refreshments, daily lunch, material such as clay, plaster, pigments & metal for building structure and pigments.The workshop is limited to 15 participants. 2. Saturday, March 21st – A talk by British artist Andrew Hewkin on his new acrylic workswhich will be displayed in the main Gallery from March 17th until Sunday, March 22nd.
3. ‘Colours of Hope’ highlighting the photography of Andre Williams has been extended to Saturday, March 14th and as from Tuesday, March 3rd, will include a selection of works by Dennis de Caires, Boscoe Holder, and Peter Springer. March 14th – April 8th. As ever arts patron Wendy Kidd is supporting the local arts while she presents the theatrical events during Holder’s Season. The Gallery of Caribbean Art will have their gallery shop with local art, including art from the islands. John Burgess will again grace the grounds and buildings with his whimsical iron and copper installations and light elements.Louise Porter with her fine art photography. Rebecca Ali will display her fine art photography, prints, cards and gifts. Jerome Radigois, artist in residence at Lancaster Great House Gallerywill be displaying his sculpture and also be creating busts from live models and will be available for commissions. Bill Grace with his graceful installations. Corrie Scott’s art in the champagne tent. More art and craft which will be announced as confirmed.

Suzy Volzenlogelarrived in Barbados in 2004 with a broad and colourful painting style which contained more than a suggestion of the influence of Gauguin. The paintings of Larry Catanzaro are vibrant, textual works that characterize forces of Gods and spirits in our most primitive, blameless and innocent enviroments.

The Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination (EBCCI) in collaboration with Legacy Barbados Inc. is organising a series of creativity workshops, Creative Barbados 2009, March 15-21, 2009, in partnership with Legacy Barbados Inc., the Ministry of Culture and Community Development, and National Cultural Foundation (NCF).

He has over 20 years experience helping individuals, teams and organizations significantly improve both personal and business results.
HERITAGE TOURISM CONFERENCE
The Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination (EBCCI) in collaboration with Legacy Barbados Inc. is organising the Second Annual Regional Workshop on Heritage Tourism, March 30-31, 2009, in partnership with the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO), Ministry of Tourism, Barbados Tourism Investments (BTI) and Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA). We anticipate approximately 100 persons from Barbados and the CARIFORUM member states will attend the meeting. During the workshop, Dr. Michael Scantlebury of the Rosen School of Hospitality Management, University of Central Florida will present the findings from last year’s conference in a paper entitled, “Challenges of and Opportunities for Heritage Tourism in the CARIFORUM countries of the Caribbean”. As this year’s conference focuses on community tourism, the Caribbean Tourism Organisation will make a presentation on “Best practices in Community Tourism in the Region” and the experiences of a global award-winning Community Tourism entrepreneur, Ms Diana McIntyre-Pyke, will be shared during her presentation on “Country StyleJamaica”.
