The response to this arts directory was so enthusiastic from the creative world in Barbados that we decided to pre release the book giving you a very big taste( 160 pages so far) of what is to come with the images and information we have received up to this date. There are many more artists who have registered and so by December when the book ( which is now nearly 300 pages) is officially due for release it will be a marvellous reference book which encompasses many art forms: Art , photography, sculpture, installations, pottery, craft work, original handcrafted jewellery and more. You are cordially invited to the opening of the October exhibition ‘JUST MEN’ at the Queen’s Park Gallery at Pelican Village.On Saturday October 8th at 10.30am to noon there will be an Artists’ Talk to signal the opening of the exhibition. The exhibiting Artists are Ashanti Trotman, Wayne Branch , Wayne Hinds, Ras Ishi Butcher, Winston Edghill , Carl Dottin , Adrian Richards and Omowale Stewart . They will be presenting paintings, Photography and Sculpture. The exhibition will close on Nov.5th.
The Gallery is located beside the Harbour Road not very far from the Barbados Arts Council. The closest parking areas are in front of the Arts Council or in the back by Fine Art Framing. Fielding Babb to hold a Palette knife painting workshop at Sugar Cane Club, Maynards, St Peter, for 3 months (12 sessions), every Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon, starting on Sat, Oct. 1st., cost: Bds$200.00 per person for the whole course.
