NEW!  ARTS DIRECTORY BARBADOS 
The response to this arts directory was so enthusiastic from the creative world in Barbados that we decided to pre release the book giving you a very big taste( 160 pages so far) of what is to come with the images and information we have received up to this date. There are many more artists who have registered and so by December when the book ( which is now over 300 pages) is officially due for release.  It will be a marvellous reference book which encompasses many art forms: Art, photography, sculpture, installations, pottery, craft work, original handcrafted jewellery and more. 'JUST MEN'  at the Queen's Park Gallery at Pelican Village. The exhibiting Artists are Ashanti Trotman, Wayne Branch, Wayne Hinds, Ras Ishi Butcher, Winston Edghill, Carl Dottin, Adrian Richards and Omowale Stewart. They will be presenting paintings, Photography and Sculpture. The exhibition will close on Nov.5th.
The Gallery is located beside the Harbour Road not very far from the Barbados Arts Council. The closest parking areas are in front of the Arts Council or in the back by Fine Art Framing. ARTS & CRAFTS FUNDRAISER WITH  THE ARK - ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY
Over 50 stall of arts and crafts. November 12th. 1pm until..Lion Castle, St Thomas. The funds raised through this event go a long way in supporting the work at our kennels where approximately 40 rescued dogs are housed until they are adopted. Fielding Babb to hold a Palette knife painting workshop at Sugar Cane Club, Maynards, St Peter, for 3 months (12 sessions), every Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon, starting on Sat, Oct. 1st., cost: Bds$200.00 per person for the whole course. ARTS SPLASH GALLERY
2.   Life Drawing – Intermediate-advanced Instructor: Leandro Soto
Leandro
will guide you to a contemporary approach to human life drawing (nude, portrait, creative representation of human figure, etc.) You will learn various techniques like pencil, charcoal, sumi-e from Japan, acrylic and mixed media. At the end of the course you will participate in a group exhibition .

Beginner’s Painting and Drawing –Instructor:
Tara La Motta
This introductory course is designed for students with little or no experience in painting or drawing. to develop drawing and painting skills with an emphasis on concept, narrative and self awareness. Students will learn drawing and painting techniques to depict colour, light, value, line, perspective and composition. Using materials such as graphite, charcoal,water-colour and acrylic paint, student will create simple sketches and finished works.
We will experiment with different art materials, ways to mix and apply colour and various techniques for drawing and composition. A list of additional art supplies needed for the course will be sent upon your registration.

1. Painting without a brush. This 6 week session is meant to get you to think outside of the box when it comes to applying paint. Experiment with roller, sponge, and palette knife, pouring and spritzing paint. Paintings may be abstract or representational. The elements of composition and design play a key role.
