BARBADOS PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY
The BPS has among its aims & objectives: the fostering of the art and craft of photography and the encouragement of the appreciation and enjoyment of photography.
A wide variety of activities are currently offered and nurtured: local & overseas field trips; Open Walls; Workshops conducted by members and experts; Exhibitions; Assignments and Competitions; Facebook communications/dialogues/postings and social get togethers. Apparently the artists have been relegated to the dog house. We are sorry that art lovers will not be able to see the recent paintings and installations....

Ras Akyem has been invited to work with Master Printmaker Michael Costello @ Hand Graphics in Santa Fe, New Mexico in January 2011Michael Costello has been working with some of the most important African American artists/printmakers in North America, including well known African American artist/printmaker Ron Adams.
Over a scheduled two week visit, Akyem will be creating all new original work using Monotype, Intaglio and Lithography printmaking techniques.
