2. Perfect for art and prints and good for our environment. Apparently only $5 each. Let’s all do our part. "Finally we have a reusable bag project to get off the ground and we now need your help! We will have a total of 2000 bags to sell as a pilot project which will be used not only as the start of the grand reduction of the use of plastic bags, but also to be used as a fantastic market research tool. We hope this research will provide the purchasers information needed for the larger scale project which is to involve almost all, if not all supermarket chains and other stores. Do you know of anyone who would be interested in helping out a couple of hours at a lunchtime or a Saturday morning to sell these bags and at the same time helping purchasers with answering 7 or so questions as to why/how/when they would use these bags? We have a couple of groups identified, but it would be great if we were able to spread the load. We are getting into full sale and research mode during Environment Month in June. It would be great if we could sell them all and have the market research to place the first large scale order before the end of the month! So what we need are interested and enthusiastic people to help spread the word, do some sales and help with forms for a couple of hours on a lunchtime at a Super Centre near you, or Brighton Farmers Market on a Saturday or Redland Market, or really anywhere else for that matter. The more people getting to know the bags the better. Can you or anyone you know help out with that?" Let me know at your earliest convenience and if you have any questions, please contact Nicole at The Future Centre on 246 425 2020 or by email futurecentre@sunbeach.net

Fundraiser In July Beki Ali, photographer, will be joining a group going to Mexico for a week to help complete the building/painting of an orphanage and old peoples home being built in Ticul, near Yucatan.
Beki, "I am telling you this because I would really love some help with fundraising, either ideas that I can use to help raise funds in the next month or so, or useful contacts for donations, that kind of thing. One person saw that I was looking for help on facebook and donated a lunch for two at her eatery which was amazing and she suggested I raffle it, giving me an idea to maybe have a bizarre/craft fair type day so that is one thing im thinking of. A sponsored run (oh dear) and sponsored slim (even bigger groan) have also been suggested and I think that I probably will do both so look out for sponsorship forms coming round soon!! There is a sunday luncheon being held at Pisces in May and tickets are $100 per person so if anyone is interested in that please let me know and I will forward more details. Pisces is confirmed $100 May 25th. It is a Sunday roast buffet, shrimp, fresh fish, chicken all prepared by Pisces. Includes appetizer, main, dessert and soft drinks and wine! We are trying to get people to book tables of 4,6 and 8. Reservations start at 12:00.They will be having a silent auction at the luncheon so art donations for auction would be great- I am putting a framed photographic print in and I know Corrie Scott and other artists have also donated a piece of their work. We held a mexican dinner evening recently and raised $1200 which was brilliant, and I know that there have been other things happening but we only have 11 weeks left till we go to raise over $30,000 so there is still a lot to do. Each of us in personally aiming to raise $3500 bds or more if possible. This will go to travel and supplies to help complete the work at the orphanage". For more information please contact Beki Ali at beki_ali@yahoo.co.uk
