Tides Art Gallery

The Tides Restaurant, Holetown, St James.  The Tides Art Gallery and Restaurant are now officially reopened after refurbishment.  Within the art gallery is a beautiful, new modern bar with some wonderful cocktails.  And not to be outdone by the visual of the cocktails, the gallery is currently highlighting new artwork by Vishni Gopwani, Corrie Scott, Heather-Dawn Scott and Arthur Atkinson.

Featured artist of the month is St. Lucian born Mosera,  whose work is said to be “…at the vanguard of a regional school of painting that is seeking to become international, to change preconceived notions of what Caribbean art should be.”  These semi-abstract pieces are bold in colour, and charming in their subject matter.

Also on show at the gallery is a collection of exciting, new work by Trinidad based artist Sarah Beckett.  The collection, entitled “Rhapsody in Red” is a series of eight pastel drawings and two poems that reflect Beckett’s intense connection to musical inspiration, both visual and emotional.

Plus a vibrant group show of local fine art and photography also from Trinidad, Canouan and St Lucia. Open 7 days a week, 9am - 11pm. Tel (246) 432 2084 or (246) 432 8356.  email   tidesart@sunbeach.net       website  www.tidesartgallery.com
