APRIL     Gale Theatre of Barbados and London The Lover, Pinter and the Piano directed by Rob Leyshon and produced by Melissa Simmonds.
The Lover, Harold Pinter’s intriguing one act comedy re imagined for this production in a modern Caribbean setting will be preceded by a short celebration of Pinter’s life and loves; his poetry, his prose and above all, his passionate relationship with Antonia Fraser.
Cast includes; Howard Antony (Barbadian living in UK), Patrick Foster, (Barbadian) Caroline Gardiner (Brit living in Barbados), Endy Mckay (British) and introducing Angelo Lascelles. (Barbadian).
Harold Pinter was a Nobel Prize winning playwright and giant of contemporary theatre, a cricket loving political and peace activist who regularly visited Barbados!
The Lover, will be followed by twice award winning jazz singer and pianist Miss Liane Carroll arriving directly from Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in London and performing the Great American Song book with special Barbadian guests.
The season as usual will unite talent from the UK and from Barbados in both halves of the show.
